The Swan Prince

I normally have two big issues with coconut teas, the first is that in my experience they either taste overtly artificial or like cardboard. This tea did not have the cloying excess sweetness super artificial teas have, nor did the taste resemble any type of box material in any way! Additionally, my other big issue with coconut teas is that sometimes there is a faint bitter/bleh aftertaste that comes with using any type of shaved coconut anywhere. This tea seemed to anticipate this issue and the usage of the rose very cleverly made this taste slightly floral and light and delightful instead of bleh or bitter. This tea is definitely one of my new absolute favorites and I am definitely kicking myself that I didn’t order more before the summer ended! This is a new top ten tea for me, and I definitely have an alert set for when it’s starts being sold again so I can buy in bulk! Kudos to whoever came up with their blend because genuinely I have never in my life seen such clever and purposeful use of ingredients before in any other tea brand!

If there’s something I love, it’s rose, coconut, and/or oolong—so all three together sounded delightful. I have rose oolongs and coconut oolongs that I’ll still drink, but The Swan Prince is my new favorite. It’s absolutely delightful to sip on, resteeps well, and definitely has made it onto the “repurchase soon” list for me!!

I got a little taster of this from the mystery sampler once, and it’s been one of my favorites ever since. The wonderful quality of the oolong allows it to be steeped over and over again, without the flavor weakening. It merely mellows and shifts slowly with each brew, the coconut and rose flavors eventually fading out after a few brews, but still tastes delicious and not at all washed out.

I am not the biggest fan of oolong but the coconut made me try this and I cannot wait to finish off my supply to buy more.

It has a wonderful floral and coconut nose with it mellowing out after brewing but lingering well into the 5th steeping.
