Oh, my friend. You have no idea what you've just discovered. Yellow teas are extremely rare due to their labor-intensive "sealed yellowing" or "smothering" phase and tendency to show off any imperfection in the leaf. This special process develops a buttery mouthfeel and floral-fatty delicate white chocolate aroma unmatched by any other style of tea!
The HONEYFAIRYLAND cultivar is Friday's white whale. The one that got away. The gold standard. THE yellow tea. We had the opportunity to try a sample years ago, and have been trying to get it in stock for you ever since. Finally, we've been able to bring on a small batch direct from the organic estate in Yunnan, China!
This pure tea tastes like Irish butter infused with golden-tipped, robust Yunnan Gold black tea. It's absolutely one-of-a-kind, and everyone who tastes it falls madly in love. This is almost certainly a gift from the fae realm, which we mortals are graced with occasional opportunities to savor.

I hadn't had a yellow tea before, and Honeyfairyland was a lovely introduction. I used a gaiwan with 5g tea to 75 ml water because I wanted to see how this tea treated me over successive short steeping sessions. I most often drink black teas with words like "malty" in the description, and this tea by contrast has a lovely smoothness and sweetness. The taste lingered slightly longer on my tongue than the delicate scent of the brewing tea led me to expect (in a good way).
Sweet and really does have a slightly fatty mouth feel
The tea is so unique and beautiful. The flavor is delicate yet still clearly discernible. A special treat.
I really enjoyed HONEYFAIRYLAND Yellow Tea. It's a very smooth, rich cup!
I love this tea. It's unlike anything I've tasted before. Gentle and complicated. Cozy and sure enough of itself to stand up to multiple steeps. Delicious!
