In 2015, The Atargatis, a research vessel headed to the Mariana Trench on a scientific expedition to look for mermaids was lost at sea, along with an accompanying film crew. Some believe the lost ship was a hoax. Others call it a tragedy. Many others think the incident was caused by a group of mythical ladies of the sea who are out for slaughter. Now a new crew has been assembled and sets sail to seek the truth and to prove or disprove that mermaids are real. Whatever the truth may be, it will only be found below the waves.
